Sowing the Seeds of Community in Bethany

Growing Together in Bethany: A Community Garden where all things grow

 The Bethany Community Garden

The Bethany Community Garden is blossoming into a vibrant hub for sustainable gardening, education, and community building!  Hosted by Barefoot Garden Hippie, we're proud to partner with the Produce Gal, Minick Materials, Eco-X Pest Control, and the Bethany Economic Development Association to create a garden that offers something for everyone:

  • Residents: Enjoy fresh, locally-grown produce, individual gardening plots, educational workshops, and engaging community events.
  • Students: Gain hands-on learning experiences in sustainable agriculture, contribute to research projects, and participate in community engagement initiatives.
  • Community: Benefit from a beautiful green space that promotes health, well-being, education, and economic vitality.

Mission & Values

 Our Mission

To cultivate a thriving community garden that nourishes individuals, strengthens community bonds, and promotes sustainable practices in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Our Dream

We envision a Bethany where residents have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with nature:  Experience the joy of growing their own food and engaging with the natural world.
  • Learn and grow together: Share knowledge, build skills, and foster a sense of community through gardening.
  • Embrace sustainability:  Practice environmentally responsible gardening techniques that benefit both people and the planet.
  • Enhance well-being:  Find peace and rejuvenation through gardening and wellness activities offered in a natural setting.
  • Increase access to healthy food:  Provide fresh, nutritious produce for themselves and contribute to local food security efforts.

We dream of a space that inspires and empowers residents to create their own sustainable gardens at home, transforming Bethany into a model of urban agriculture and community resilience.

Our Values

  • Sustainability:  We are dedicated to protecting our environment and promoting practices that ensure a healthy planet for future generations.
  • Community:  We believe in the power of collective action and strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all.
  • Education:  We are passionate about sharing knowledge and empowering individuals to make informed choices about their food and their environment.
  • Well-being:  We recognize the importance of physical, mental, and emotional well-being and seek to create a space that nurtures all aspects of health.
  • Giving Back:  We are committed to serving our community and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food.

Join us in making this dream a reality!
